Jeff Evans will offer straight razor collectionduring auction
MT. CRAWFORD, Va. ó A collection of straight razors will be just one of many fascinating categories offered Feb. 15-16 by Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates. What a timely auction this will be as many men are now eschewing the electric razors and disposable blades for the experience of a wet shave.

Many websites recommend a reconditioned vintage blade as a good starting point for that first shave with a straight razor. The Evans auction will be offering the Bob and Joan Wentz collection of straight razors and related advertising.

Also included in this auction is property deaccessioned by the Strong Museum of Play as well as the Esterline collection of childrenís items. Childrenís furniture as well as dollhouse furniture and accessories will make it a delight for all of those interested in all things small.

To decorate a room the auction will feature more than 100 Frances Brundage, Maude Humphrey, and other children prints and calendars and more than 150 lots of Christmas, Halloween, Easter, and other holiday decorations including candy containers, a collection of milk glass Easter eggs and covered dishes. Then there is part two of the Sarnelle collection of antique and vintage clothing and other textiles.

The auction will continue with country furniture, country store and advertising items and mechanical banks and toys. For those who enjoy items from the kitchen there is a collection of nutmeg graters, butter prints and cookie cutters. Antique clocks will include a Santa Fe railroad regulator. There will also be plenty of glass and art pottery, silver, jewelry and even a selection of American coins.

A complete catalog of the auction is posted on the firmís website. Both absentee and live bidding will be available through the new Jeffrey S. Evans Live platform as well as Live Auctioneers and Invaluable. All lots are on public preview at the firmís gallery in Mt. Crawford from Feb. 13-16.
